Page title
[edit]Shouldn't we follow the existing conventions and use ORANGE RANGE as the title? See the List of J-pop artists and amazon.co.jp. - mako 09:08, 6 May 2005 (UTC)
- If nobody objects, I'm going to move the page. - mako 07:00, 27 May 2005 (UTC)
- Weak objection. Amazon.com call them "Orange Range" and so does other western stores. There doesnä't seem to be a consenus on how their name should be written. I perfer to not use all-caps because it's uglier. Jeltz talk 11:42, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- My reasoning is as follows. Looking through the List of J-pop artists and http://amazon.co.jp, it seems that J-pop artists do make a distinction between all-caps and standard capitalization schemes. We should use what they use. - mako 06:25, 5 Jun 2005 (UTC)
It really should be ORANGE RANGE, just because it looks ugly doesn't mean it's wrong... they take caps very seriously, hyde NEVER uses a capital to spell his name. --LaotianBoy1991
- See Wikipedia:Manual of Style (trademarks). Wikipedia convention is not to write names in all caps, even if that is what the group usually prefers. Dragons flight 01:43, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
picture
[edit]what on earth happened to their picture? Darkroom Danny 06:09, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
- It probably didn't have any copyright information and was deleted. Jeltz talk 17:12, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
Bleach?
[edit]Shouldn't there be something about them doing the title them to the anime Bleach?
Why? It's not mentioned for the other anime songs they did, if you're going to add it for Bleach, add it for every song they've done for a TV show...which is five or so I believe. Kazuhara 11:22, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
What about them being in the Fantastic-4 movie album? It is rare for J-pop/J-rock artists to get in American...anything.
Trivia section
[edit]I was trying to edit the trivia section to get rid of extra commas and it seems that the section doesn't exist. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 218.111.209.206 (talk) 14:12, 13 January 2007 (UTC).
J-rock? Really?
[edit]I feel like this band is more indie or alternative than J-rock (considering J-rock isn't really a genre).
Thoughts? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.186.158.41 (talk) 05:04, 28 January 2007 (UTC).
What the heck is J-Rock anyhow? (Yes, I know the implied meaning) Is there any way to clearly differentiate it from J-Pop? Or even clarify a band as alternative? And indie isn't a musical style, but a commercial status which would be inaccurate to describe a band which is signed to a major label (or even a minor one).
Such distinctions are subjective and irrelevant. I say lump all Japanese popular music into J-Pop. If so desired, perhaps a sub category of rock can be noted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 219.67.22.95 (talk) 10:47, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
- I disagree entirely. Why would you respect the distinctions between pop, rock, metal, alternative, hip hop, etc in American, British, or other Western music, and not in Japanese music? As for J-rock, I'm not sure what implied meaning you're referring to - do you simply mean to say that you understand that it means "Japanese rock"? "J-rock" seems to have a connotation of a particular style and aesthetic (see visual kei, a major subgenre of J-rock, which you won't find a true equivalent to among the major bands of the West) beyond simply being Japanese rock music. LordAmeth (talk) 11:28, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
J-rock its just a name. doesn't mean anything. but the name has been overrated to imply all other rock from japan. its not a real in genre terms its just a fan name. Do we call other rock "English rock" or "Spanish rock" ? its just that Japanese rock is so famous that many people tend to separate it in to a whole different rock which really doesnt make sense. Leave it as rock in general.24.249.176.77 (talk) 17:30, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
- There is a Britpop article here in Wikipedia, and though there is no article on Brit Rock, there are some references to it. I know, I know, this issue's probably dead by now. I just wanted to add a footnote. Alphapeta (talk) 05:57, 19 June 2011 (UTC)
Orange and Range?
[edit]is that the band in 2 seperate groups? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.138.137.5 (talk) 04:44, August 27, 2007 (UTC)
I get the feeling that there were two singles called "Orange" and "Range". Of greater concern to me is the fact that this section has been written in the future tense; it just makes it seem out of date, though the final paragraph makes it clear that it's not (by citing sales). Is there a particular style guide that outlines this? I haven't seen it done on Wiki before. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.194.85.108 (talk) 22:02, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
Polish Fan Site
[edit]Someone keeps adding a link to a Polish Fan Site. I'm pretty sure Wikipedia standards say fan sites should be avoided. Also, I don't see what a Polish fan site has to do with the English page for this band. I'm going to remove the link, but I was wondering if anyone else had any comments. Douggers (talk) 14:46, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
- If it was an official Polish page, then it could work, but yes, fan sites are not to be used. Many times they do have false information.WhiteArcticWolf (talk) 13:29, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
Female in the squad
[edit]Omg since when?--hnnvansier (talk) 04:42, 5 March 2009 (UTC) False information, it is just some guy tagged another band as Orange Range lol--hnnvansier (talk) 04:46, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Naruto third ending theme
[edit]To be specific, it isn't really ビバ★ロック (Viva Rock) that is the third ending theme to Naruto, but actually ビバ★ロック~japanese side~ (Viva Rock -japanese side-). The two songs are different in lyrics, the former sung partly in English by the drill sergeant. Might want to note that somewhere. --Geopgeop (talk) 11:52, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

Albums
[edit]Hi, can we demerge the Albums link that send to the band page to make pages about them. Or can we put the Albums track list in the page of the band and make a hide/show thing for them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.158.159.208 (talk) 19:08, 26 June 2018 (UTC)
Additions
[edit]I went through Apple Music and went through all of Orange Range’s Singles, EPs, and Albums, and classified and reclassified things based on that. Also added a ton of Singles. A lot of these may need articles if notable enough, but I’ll leave that to the more experienced members to do.NickWX28 (talk) 03:48, 20 December 2021 (UTC)
- I have been working on creating articles for the Singles that don’t have one. As well as updating the ones that do. So far I’ve finished these two: ミチシルベ/ミッドナイトゲージ and Kirikirimai if anyone wants to have a go at them now. Also, sorry if some of them are in kanji, I tried to stick with what the Apple Music release has it as considering that is the official release in English speaking territories. And they kept that first one in kanji.NickWX28 (talk) 23:16, 20 December 2021 (UTC)
